Welcome to Liberrants, a blog dedicated to editorials, discussions, and studies of all things libertarian. Don't let the title mislead you; it's merely my attempt to be creative in describing myself as a "hopeful curmudgeon" who embraces the goal of the free, peaceful, economically vibrant society envisioned by America's founding fathers. A critically thinking curmudgeon whose goal, in addition to creatively venting about the imperfect world in which we live, is to induce critical thinking in others. The ultimate goal is to help bring about a peaceful world in which we can all live in freedom.

Chuck Baldwin on America's Irrelevant Churches

I've been waiting for it for a long time, but the latest opinion letter by the Reverend Chuck Baldwin finally states it in firm black and white: America's churches are, for the most part, completely irrelevant, both for the advocacy of liberty and natural law and, more importantly, teaching the truth of the Scriptures. I've been predicting the emergence of “underground” or “home” churches for quite some time now, as the state-worshiping, thoroughly co-opted, secularly saturated, pseudo-churches become more and more obviously facades for and tools of the temporal state-corporate Establishment. I strongly urge my readers to read Chuck's letter. In fact, if you haven't done so already, I urge those of you who consider yourselves Christians to subscribe to his email newsletters. They are completely free, published approximately bi-weekly, and never fail to contain delicious nuggets of liberty-centered education with a spiritual twist.
